Peter Parker officially died in Ultimate Spiderman #160 :(

He took a bullet for captain america and then fought green goblin .

In the end he succumbed to his wounds .:(

Goblin survived and looks happy .

The line to aunt may
"I couldn't save uncle Ben but I did save you " is classy.
Brought tears to my eyes .

Did anyone read it ?

theyre actually killing off spiderman?

isnt there soposed to be like a huge hollywood movie coming up with all the superheroes from recent movies?

green lantern
green hornet
thor
spiderman
x-men
batman
and the rest

No
New spiderman is to come.
Peter died heroically

Just issues before Jonah discovered that peter is spiderman.
He defends spiderman publicly and protects his identity.

The most promising hero of Ultimate universe has died.

Spidey will die, take a few months off (maybe) and make a triumphant return.

He is present in normal marvel storyline.

Only in ultimate storyline they have killed him.And bendis claims that Peter Parker may never return .Spiderman will.

But Peter will somehow inspire the new spiderman or so.

I remember when Bruce Wayne died. Supposedly we were going to see a new Batman. Yeah, that didn't happen. Comic book deaths are just pointless nowadays 'cuz the characters always come back from the dead.

True .Most heroes come back after a shiny long perplexing theory.

Ultimate universe is slightly different .since it aint mainstream ,some of important characters have never returned like cyclops, wolverine and Prof X after their deaths.

The return of Bruce wayne felt absurd.i used to follow Red Robin which was interesting and the Blackest Night was good .
Heard there is gonna be another GL event with Hal Jordan joining Sinestro corps ,Kyle rayner going Blue lantern ,John Stewart going Indigo and Guy gardener Red.

I remember when Superman died. THen he came back. Its almost like a soap opera people dies and comes back all the time. THis post is the type of reaction the comic books wants. People to get interested and upset that a main character died. I sure wont miss spidermans cheesy one liners. :D

Like I said, Spidey is dead and will make a triumphant return. As we have learned through the years it's not always the person in the costume but the costume itself that matters.

I become kind of jaded to the comic kill offs in my youth. It's like a soap opera, let's kill _____ and turn right around and have them return some way or another.

I know they can't kill them off forever, but give them a while dead and have it be cross series. So if someone croaks in X-Men have them also be dead in Astonishing X-Men. I would love to have a character die and have another series they are part of have to deal with that. It kind of takes away in my opinion from the death.

Peter Parker may be dead to Bendis, but he isn't gone for good.

I may have taken a break from the more mainstream comics at the time, but I don't recall Bruce Wayne dying. I remember Bane breaking him in half pretty much. Then if I recall correctly Azreal took the mantle of Batman, and maybe even someone else. I remember vaguely my brother bitching about Robocop looking Batman that carried a gun.

didnt spidey die before? he turned into a spider and was killed. then came back with extra powers?

spidey can not die.. there have been hints in my episodes of his future greatness. old spider woman sorceress that keeps guiding his life...towards a greater goal.

main heros will never really die...
superman, batman, iron man, spidey, ...etc
they always find a way back.

I think that is the arc when sorceress was tortured by kraven's daughter and she dies ...That will be Amazing Spiderman in Earth-616 continuity

What I am talking about is Ultimate Universe continuity
In ultimate universe
MJ,Gwen,Aunt may ,Kong,J jameson and all superheroes know peter is spiderman
His home is sort of refuge for people who have no where else to go.
And it is somewhat better than normal universe.

If bendis keeps his word of replacing Peter parker as spiderman ,it will really be cool.

Yeah it tends to get boring when main superheroes die
and get resurrected in a special issue which has a lame plot .

He died just within the last year or so. He took a point blank shot from Darkseid's Omega beams and was obliterated. Dick Grayson took over as Batman and Damian Wayne (Bruce's bastard son) took over as Robin. Tim Drake became Red Robin. Then we find out that Bruce did not die, he just got sent back in time. He returned through time and is now Batman again.

Yeah now their is Batman Inc . !!!! WTF
Blackest Night was atleast good.

Looks like I gotta get back into the comics. I havent read any or kept up with any since the 80's - 90's.

Last comic I remember reading was when Spidey was going against Kraven and got killed, or supposedly killed.

In that arc he wasn't killed. He was shot by Kraven which put him a drug induced coma. Kraven then buried him alive. He never was dead though, nor was he made out to be dead if I remember right. He was back beating Kraven like 2-3 issues later we were shown him digging his way out of the grave in the issues between.

And that would be why I had not clue. Haven't read any Batman related stuff in about a year and a half. Thanks for the info.

And Kraven was resurrected again with spiderman's bad clone ,a year ago  .Spiderman was at emotional breaking point or something. The kooky spider lady died and another spider lady became the blind seer.

I'm a wannabe comics fan. I was a huge fan back when I was a kid in the 80-90s and then my mother banned all comics books in the habit because they were a corrupting influence or something. I'd really like to get back into it, but can't because the storylines are impossible to follow. If you kill off Bruce Wayne and make Dick Grayson RBatman, then I'm interested because it's basically a reboot of the character and you're starting from scratch with a very interesting character. You have a Batman who's not dark , but a Robin who is. I'm fascinated. Then you bring back Wayne and the convoluted continuity that goes with him. I'm confused again.

I especially liked when Thomas elliot was masquerading as Bruce Wayne .
I left Batman for that reason .Whats the point in having two batmen !!!

Did you read Dark reign/Siege of Marvel .It was pretty nice .Norman Osborn savior of mankind .
Deadpool is also nice.Crazy .
