Apps Debian + Wine Emulator = Age of Empires II?

Alright this may be way over the capabilities but last night I was wondering if its possible...

You can install Debian linux on the Android G1...
You can install Wine emulator on Debian linux...
You can run AOE II on the Wine emulator...
I have an 8GB MicroSD card...
I have days of patience...

Is it possible, however unlikely, that I might be able to pull it off?

System requirements for AOE II are:

  • 166 MHz equivalent or higher processor
  • 32 MB of system RAM
  • 200 MB available hard disk space, 100 MB of available hard disk space for swap file
  • Super VGA with 2 MB of video memory
  • Sound card, speakers or headphones required for audio
  • Compatible pointing device
  • 56.6 Kbps or better modem for online play

Though I wont even begin to consider multiplayer, is this something possible to do?

just got HTC Desire and has so much power but only little kiddys games are being developed with pathetic graphics.
just loaded Avatar on Desire and incredible graphics.

Patrick if you do get AOE II on android I WILL BUY :)

My guess is that with enough patience, you could get it to work, but it probably won't run well. Those system specs are minimums; when you add in the extra layer of wine running on an OS that's not optimized for the chipset, you're really going to be taxing the ~500MHz processor.
