Default email client

You don't....at least, not in one easy step. You delete each item individually.

Try K-9 Mail as a good, free, alternative.
 
I went to K9 simply because it has a "mark all read" option. The default email client is sorely lacking.
 
Within the app, menu delete. You can then select the emails to go clicking the X next to it. Then press delete.

Then click menu, folders, trash. Repeat as above to completely remove.
