Default Google email...not Gmail though.

I recently updated my Note 3 to LG V20 and was told that the default Google email app is no longer included or available in the Play Store. Is there an unofficial way to get this or is there an app in the Play Store similar to Google email (not Gmail)?

(Most of the apps seem to function like Gmail, which I hate. The default app was fast, lean, and clean.)

Please help.

From what I know...Unfortunately...No!

It seems that Google is trying to push everything through Gmail...including Exchange Email.

Don't get me wrong, I like Gmail, but I refuse to have all of my email accounts go through one email account, no matter whether it is Gmail, Hotmail, or another email account.

My personal advice is that you either download another 3rd party email app or something like MS Outlook.

I believe there's some confusion with your definitions. I guessing you're referring to the default Android email app that comes on most Android phones. Gmail is Google's email service, and whomever told you the Gmail app is no longer available in the Google's Play Store is incorrect. (Although that's most likely not the app you're attempting to ask about.)

The Android default email app, if that is what you're asking about, is not in the Play Store. It's installed as an OEM app and should still be on your phone. There are however plenty of very good third-party alternative email apps in the Play Store. I like K-9 Mail, a lot of others prefer AquaMail, and quite a few people have recommended Blue Mail. But they generally have more features with busier interfaces and as you mentioned you prefer a simpler email app the Android default email app is probably a better option for you. Again, it should still be on your phone. If its icon isn't for whatever reason somewhere in your home screen it'll be in your Apps menu and you can just add it back again from there.

Just thought I'd mention that that personally I noticed that the old Android Email App is no longer supported by current versions of Android, since at least 6.0 and has been basically disabled by Google. As I mentioned, Google seems to want everything to go through Gmail.

I highly suggest that you investigate Aqua Mail.

it can handle all of the different email providers.... and multiple accounts, and if you like the idea, it has a "Smart Inbox" where all of the accounts can show up in just one Inbox. Personally, I don't allow that to happen. I have different email addresses for a reason, to keep them away from each other.

Aqua Mail - email app - Android Apps on Google Play

If I had to guess, working in android tech support, I would say that nougat is going to be phasing the android email app out as it isn't really supported by most major email servers anymore. Most email settings will require you to "allow less secure sources" just to use the app in the first place now.

Or perhaps you're not talking about the android email app or the gmail app but rather the default Samsung email app? I see you've moved from a Note 3 to a V20. I presume by Note 3 you mean Samsung Galaxy Note 3. If that is the case I don't see how you can get a Samsung app on an LG phone.

I believe after reading through the thread that you are referring to the stock AOSP (Android Open Source Project) Email app. Google has indeed phased this out in favor of there own proprietary app.
This is Android however. Anything is possible (unless you have any type of carrier branded device, in which case you just need to get back in line and do as you're told). Still you could take a look at this.
