Default tone for Alarm Clock

Hi everyone

Does anyone know how to change the default tone which is used for the Alarm Clock? I know you can select a tone each time you set an alarm, but I want to use the same default tone (one of my own) for all alarms without having to go in and change it each time I set an alarm.

Can it be done?

I'm using a Motorola Defy+ and Android 2.3.4.

I'm also looking for the same. Got tired with the default tone. It's difficult to choose the tone all the time. Do we need to root our phone to change the default tone?

You'd need a different alarm app. Alarm Clock Xtreme has that function.

Have to say that I'm not impressed with the stock apps that come with Android: I need a different alarm clock app to be able to use my own tone and if I want to set a reminder in the calendar (for example) for every other Tuesday, or three consecutive days, I need a new calendar app.

Seems that Google hasn't thought things through completely and has left the important little things out, ruining otherwise good apps.

PS - pixaro, rooting won't help as my Moto Defy+ is rooted and I still can't change the alarm tone.

Thats the point. If the stock app doesnt do what you want, get an app for it. Its like in a PC. We dont like the stock IE/Safari, so we get Chrome. We dont like Paint, or its not good enough, so we get Photoshop/Draw.
