I'm currently considering getting a Defy off of ebay and using it with TM's pay as you go and web daypass and have been getting contradictory information, both from TM and from assorted forums, as to whether it's possible. Is anyone here doing it? Does it make a difference if the phone is unlocked? Rooted? If rooted what specs on the rooting?
I mostly need a rugged PDA with occasional emergency mobile voice and data capacity - I'm almost always in wifi accessible areas and I really don't like talking on phones or texting and $30/mo seems a hell of a lot for ten minute's use - and this seemed like the best deal out there.
