Help Delete dumpstate/logcat with no *#9900# command

Hi - My Moto G is constantly running out of internal memory. The system data file shown in DiskUsage keeps getting bigger and bigger. From what I've read, it's getting bloated by log files, which I can't see unless I root the phone. If I did this, I could delete them. I don't want to root the phone.
The command *#9900#, which only runs on some phones, would also allow me to delete them, but unfortunately it does not work on the Moto G and the only option for me is to factory reset the phone and start from scratch. This works at best for a few weeks and is a pain.

Is there any other way around the problem apart from doing a factory reset and reinstalling my apps, or rooting the phone ?

Hi - I have a similar problem. My Moto G shows 7.29GB used out of a total of 8.0GB. The Android OS takes 3.14GB and internal storage, apps etc 4.14GB used of 4.85GB. When I check the breakdown of internal storage I see only 2.2GB of apps, images and other misc items. I have somehow lost nearly 2GB of internal storage. All videos and other photos are on a 32GB SD card.
How I do I recover my lost memory? The command for dumpsite/logcat does not work.

I have the same problem, between apps and media I have used ~1.8 GB, but show 4GB used of 4.53 GB available. I have cleaned everything possible including cache and all pics/video. factory reset helped for about a month, and I've done it a few times, but that can't be the way to continue to use my phone.
