delete misc files in storage

is there a way to delete the misc file in the storage tab on a m8 ott tv box . when I go to it it's just blank . thanks

Storage tab where?
Are you referring to an Android file manager or one of the files locations in the App
( XBMC, KODI, etc ).
If the App, maybe it is just an empty directory in the files list.

No. That is not a file, it is a category that includes everything not listed above it.
It is not something you can delete.
If you tap it and you get an empty screen, that means you have no misc files.
You probably should have a non-selectable "System Data" entry unless you somehow deleted it.

so do know why it shows almost 2 gigs of space being used ? thank u

Perhaps they just don't show the "System Data", and only show data stored by applications that don't fit in the other categories.
