Deleted files still taking up space, can't find them.

Im having this problem that really seems like deleted files are still taking up space. I have a 64gb card and often copy and delete large files. I recently erased everything (both phone and sd card) and loaded the last stable cyanogenmod rom for my phone.

The settings -> storage on my phone says 7gb free of 59gb and when I connect to pc by usb it says the same. I figure I only actually have a few gb of files on my card now. When I check ES File manager it says 51gb free of 59 and that sounds correct. I got the paid "root cleaner" app, ran it, and it shows 52gb free as well. There are bit conflicts in size between different programs. I can't find any other files on the sd card when viewing all files including hidden files.

Using the "disk usage" app it shows on the sd card there is 48gb of system data being used. This would account for the missing space. I can not find where the system data is that the "disk usage" app shows. I dont have anything installed on the sd card.

Hi

Odd, but I would, using your phone, unmount sd card and reformat it then reboot. (Back up anything on it you want first of course)
