Deleting a contact from the favorites home screen

I have an HTC Desire and one of the seven home screens is the Favorites screen, I have added a number of contacts to this but am struggling to find a way to delete a contact from it.
Any answers anyone?

Go into "people" or "contacts" and edit. From there you can choose which contacts go into your "favorites"

I have done some more research on this and it appears to be a problem only when the person is a facebook user (or at least in my case). I have now solved the problem by going to people selecting the contact and then firstly unlinking the profiles facebook, people etc and then going and editing the contact detail and unticking the favorites box. I then went back into the favorites honescreen and added the person again but this time changed the default action for that contact and I have now solved my problem.
