Deleting a gmail account from android phones

I had removed my gmail account from my android phone however the account was still appearing in the lists of account in the gmail application. While researching online how to delete the account, i noticed most people answered the removal of account process. I came across one post which helped and I thought i should share.

This is how you delete a gmail account in android incase it is still appearing after removing it..

Go to settings > Apps > go into the Gmail App info and select Storage. Clear the data and cache. The navigation to get to that option was through my Huawei p9. Process may differ depending on android version or phone.

Yes, that is because when you delete an account, the device still stores messages synced from that device, so unfortunately, you have to do the process you mentioned above, to clear out the info. then simply sign back in to your other accounts again.
