Is there anywhere i can get some extra skins/sense ui themes from that will change the bottom bar without having to install apps that require rooting or whatever?

You could try Launcher Pro SenseMod. There is a thread with download link over at XDA. Idk if it is root only, but it has the sense dock and interacting buttons that turn green when pressed and the dockbar works in the app drawer too
