Help Device resetting without action

Hi everyone, last night two of my devices (Samsung Galaxy S8 and an S9) during the night have completely reset with a hard reset losing all that was on it. I wonder if this anomaly is an android bug? I think it's a serious thing that a device resets itself without user intervention. Is there an explanation for this?

Could someone else using your google account(s) have done remote wipes using something like Google's "find device" app? I have never heard of any device doing this on its own, never mind two!
