device says emulated primary storage.

I am using a huawei ascend phone. I am trying to use app2sd and when i try moving the apps to the sd card, it says "the device doesn have primary external storage or the primary external storage is emulated" im clueless and dont know what to do. Im trying to downlaod few aps and games , it seems there is no much space availing on the internal storage. I have quite a lot of space free on the sd card. But not able to do a thing about it. A little bit of help here?

This may depend on how the internal storage is set up and what android version you are running.

Many phones with significant internal storage set that up as a pseudo sd card (for reasons of backward compatibility with stuff written for older devices) - hence "emulated". How they mount the actual sd card then varies between manufacturers. Try using a file explorer app (install ES File Explorer if you don't have one) and see what the address of the sd card actually is, then whether apps2sd lets you set this.

These are just thoughts that come to mind. To do more we'd have to be able to discuss and work through it, so if that doesn't fix it, and nobody else suggests something that does, you could register and post the problem in the main forum. It would be useful to know which Ascend model and what Android version it is running.

With many of the data2ext apps, a specific partition must me made on the sd card for the app to use. Have you made a partition on your sd card for the app?

Could you please make another post with answers to the questions that have been asked.

Hi I'm having the same problem as he did. I partitioned my sd card on my mac using disk utility, but when I try to use App2SD or App Manager it says my sd card cannot be used because it is emulated. Help!
