Apps Devices I should have to become Android programmer?

Hello. Currently I have only Nexus 7 tablet, but is it enough to start developing apps, to show them as demo when I apply for a job as Android programmer?

Or can I just develop demo apps using Geny Motion and the Android Studio simulators?

Also which devices or what type of devices would be enough for a beginner android programmer?

Anything which runs the latest version of Android would be a nice device to have.
The emulator does a good job for other device types, and previous API versions.

Nexus and Pixel devices are good since they're stock Android and receive quick updates. Newer models:

Nexus 5x
Nexus 6p
Pixel
Pixel XL
