Dialer@Bar - another little free gem

Just found Dialer@Bar on the market. Super simple and useful - it puts an icon in the notification area that allows instant access to your phone or contacts. There is also Dialer@Bar(1.6 or less) for pre Android 2.0 systems. Both versions are free. I know this app will come in handy.

How about a link? I tried and tried all variations (dialbar, dial bar, dialerbar, dialer bar, dialer@bar, etc...) and could not find this app.

Pete, when searching the market try shorter search terms
For example a search on just "dialer" brings up our app at fifth on the list

I use Bar control. It lets you ANY app on notification bar but my need is only for contacts.

Only problem is :
Provided icons are limited
Can't rename at least I've not found
Can't rearrange

otherwise works a treat.

+1, it is very handy to have the calculator in the bar

Does it let you create one-touch contact dialer icons in the notification abr like you can on the home screen with AnyCut?

No.

BTW, you don't need AnyCut to do that, just long press a home screen, select "shortcuts", then "direct dial". I'm still trying to figure out the purpose of AnyCut...

That's a pretty neat idea. It's always a pain for me to fit in a phone button on all of my home screens. I'd love to have it sitting up in the notification bar.

I'm not 100% sure but I think that shortcut is exclusive to apps like any/bettercut and HTC Sense.

Anycut is awesome because you can make shortcuts and name them what you want.

Example - I hate how Hancent SMS is called "Handcent SMS". So I use Anycut to create a shortcut to it called "Messages" or I use Bettercut to make a shortcut called "Messages" with an icon of my choice.

They're great apps for customization!

Does that work with Android 1.5? I'm pretty sure I wasn't able to do it until I got AnyCut.
