Dialer Storage

I recently got a new phone and transferred over my contacts, messages, photos and videos. My old phone was 32 GB and my new phone is 64 GB. Immediately my new phone gave me low storage messages. I've tried deleting my call log and text messages to no avail. When I checked my storage usage it says that dialer storage is using over 41GB! What can I do to clear this? Under settings clearing it is not an option (grayed out).

Is it a stock dialer? If not, uninstall it and then reinstall. I had a similar issue with the CVS app. Once I uninstalled it and did a reinstall, the issue was resolved for a while. Eventually it built back up over time (probably due to their ads) so I just deleted the app.

Just to make sure, what was your old phone and what is your NEW phone? Just wanted to make sure its a note 8 since this is a note 8 forum.

If these are samsung products, did you use smart switch?

What’s the name of the dialer? Is it stock or aftermarket as mentioned above?

It sounds to me like a Factory Reset is in order. These aren't fun, but quite frequently resolve a lot of issues of this sort. Backup what you want to keep and FR and see if that doesn't fix the issue.

When I transferred data, settings, etc from my old phone to my Note 8 I noticed a lot of duplicates and deleted (so I thought) contacts.
