Dictation times out too quickly

I'm a writer and would like to be able to take extensive notes and even draft articles by voice. But on my LG G4, I can only speak a short time before the app stop[s registering my input. This happens on every app I've tried. But when I use one of the same apps (Dragon Dictate) on my iPad, I can speak at length.

How can I fix this?
