did i burn out my battery?

[Android Question]

I have a Samsung galaxy 1 and it kept turning on and off for me and the battery would run out really fast and then one time I took out the battery and it was inflated so I got a new one online but that one stopped working after about a month, when I took out that battery to check it out it smelled burned , even the slot to put the battery in the phone smelled burned!!!
I don't know what to do, if I should buy a new battery or if it messed up my phone

Can you tell us the manufacturer of your second battery? It sounds like an eBay special from China. Your best bet is to go with an OEM Samsung battery. While even they aren't perfect, you have a much better shoot at getting a good one.

I would order one of those and replace your burnt one.
