Hello,

I got the galaxy s3 for vzw yesterday and I love it. However I believe I damaged the battery.when verizon activated it it had 56% battery life so i charged it to 100%. I didnt wait until it said charged just 100% charging (thought 100% would be charged but appeently not). Anywho was my battery damaged? Did i damage it? Was it suppose to be charged for 8 hrs before use? Ive been using my phone for 30 mins and it went from 100% to 94%. Just wondering if thats normal. Hope i didnt damage anything.. Lol

Thank you for reading.

Thanks for the replies guys!

Will read the article when I get home.

I used the phone since 1:50 at 100% and came home at 8:07.. with 49% battery life life. Geez that drains way to quick ... I know the phone has a short battery span, but is it suppose to be that quick? I only texted a couple of times and looked an article up for a bit.

how much where you using it, what was brightness set at, what were you doing while you were using it, what kind of reception where you getting?

If you just got it yesterday the battery stats haven't worked themselves out fully yet im sure. It should improve after a couple full cycles.

Thanks for the reply guys. I guess my battery is normal. Apparently a full day is the "max". heh love this phone though!

I am running on android 4.04. Isn't 4.1 out?

Is this your first android phone? Lol yes 4.1 is out but not yet for the galaxy s3 as an OTA I think you can root and flash it. It takes a while for android phones to be updates unless you have a nexus device that isn't on Verizon. My droid 3 stopped at Gingerbread even though there are plenty of other devices that run it with less hardware. Luckily there are developers working on ICS and JB for it but it is a pain with the locked bootloader and all.

No root is required to flash JB
