Help did i ruin my new 700 dollar phone

i rooted my phone and used the app known as freedom but when i was trying to update my firmware i forgot to fix the hosts file before unroot and my phone is unrooted and i cant access my google playstore please someone help or give me advice on what to do it says i dont have permission to edit files without being rooted but i cant even root it again

I understand that you are distressed, but, what make/model of phone, which old firmware, which new firmware, which rooting method, which unrooting method? We need to have some detail in order to be able to help......
