Different keyboards?

I got my R2D2 back in October and in February it starting doing the random reboots. Verizon had me to a factory reset. Worked fine for a month then back to its old ways so they sent me a "certified like new" R2D2. First thing I noticed out of the box is that it has a different keyboard. My old R2 the keys are raised and overall much easier to use. The replacement D2 the keys are all flat much like the original droid.

Did they switch keyboards at some point?

yes i think so they did that with the droid 1, the keys were raised then they stopped doing it, they do it for all of the droid phones with the slide out keyboards just gotta get used to it bro

On the D1 the raised keys were having problems such as falling off after moto replaced enough phones due to keys falling off the keyboard they decided to change the design.
