Dim red light

During a call my screen would not come on, there was a dim flickering red light in a spot right beside the notification light. After the call the screen came back on, but the red light was there until I rebooted the phone. Any idea what it was?

my guess is thats your proximity sensor, not sure why it didn't go off after the call was completed, but thats the only thing it could be
