Diplay clock in standby?

Is it possible to display the clock when the phone sleeps and goes into standby? I can only see the clock if I press the power button to pull it out of stanby. 5x running Nougat, screen saver is On and set to Clock
 
I don't think it is however, if you turn go in to Setting > Display and turn on Ambient display, the screen will come on and display the clock whenever you move the phone - no need to press any buttons.
