Help Direct Dial shortcut on lock screen?

PunyGod

Is it possible to set a direct dial contact shortcut on the lock screen like you can on the home screen?

Thanks!

Tony.

No. Only apps. Try go locker or widget locker

Not entirely true, I use widget locker and its amazing. I had it on my thunderbolt and had direct dial options on both the lock screen and in the unlock slider that can be configured to slide to android functions, apps, or shortcuts like direct dial/messaging. The only problem I'm having now is that I just got a galaxy s3 and am using adw launcher ex, but when I set a direct dial in either adw or widget locker, neither of them work, i get a "application not installed on your phone" error.

Yup, have to say I have had the same experience. Widgetlocker does not work, gives the error noted above. I have also tried MagicLocker and LockMenu. All have exactly the same problem. You are allowed to select a Direct Dial widget, and choose the number to dial, but when you actually try to use the control, it fails. My S3 just gives a little vibration, but nothing. I think it might be an S3 restriction somewhere - we just have to hope a developer gets their hands on an S3 and figures out the problem. I have contacted as far as I can offering to run debug versions or gather logs, but no response from any of them :(

same exact issue with my new GS3 on Verizon

Same scenario for me with WidgetLocker and SGSIII. It's because for some reason WidgetLocker is attempting to launch Skype to make the call. When I uninstall Skype, I get the same error as you guys, when installed, Skype attempts to make the call. And can't find where to change the default for this.

Direct Dial on the homescreen works with no issues.
