Help Disable ability to power on when in pocket.

Hi,

I'm using a oneplus one. I often have the issue that my phone turns on in my pocket. I have a pin, so it doesn't do much harm, except that it already called emergency services at one point. Also, the camera has been started this way, using a lot of battery.

Is there a way to have my phone stay locked when the proximity sensor determines my phone is in my pocket?

Thanks,

Tom

You do not need an app. All you need to do is go to Settings \ Display & lights. From there look for "Prevent accidental wake-up" and check the box. This makes your phone check the proximity sensor before waking the screen. If the phone is in your pocket, it will not turn the register the double tap to wake or the screen gestures.

I am surprised more people are not more aware of this feature as it was available in the early updates and was probably the most requested fix for CM to implement. Let us know if you have any other questions or issues. Thanks!

That solution works only until I receive a call, at which point the screen automatically turns on. After that, it's back on and thinking I'm touching it. Mine too has called emergency services. Has anyone found a way to keep the screen off in your pocket even when receiving a call?

I use a one plus flip case which pretty much solves the problem for me... And then I use gravity screen on my old note 2 which solves that one as well.

My phone and my wife's phone will not automatically turn the screen on when someone calls unless the proximity sensor is free. If there is something in the way of the proximity sensor then I will hear the phone ringing but the phone will not turn on.
