Disable auto-download of image attachment in gmail app

On the browser version of gmail, gmail asks me if I want to download images included in the email. However, in the gmail app on my galaxy s3, I dont have this option - and every spammer know if my email is valid just because I opened a spam email.

Is there any way to disable auto-download of images in gmail app on galaxy s3?
