Disable built-in Internet app

I don't want to use the built-in Internet app, but "Disable" is greyed out when I load the app settings in Settings - Application Management. I set Chrome as the default for various websites, but this setting seems to go away every day or so and I need to reset it when I load a bookmark from my home screen. I really don't want the "Internet" app enabled at all for anything, I want to use Chrome only. I thought the App "Disable Service" might do this, but I used it and the "Always/Once" choices still show up, even though all 3 services the Disable Service app shows for "Internet" have been unchecked. AND I've reset the app defaults, and tried it all again, but again, setting Chrome as the default doesn't work - I get the "Always/Once" choices after a reboot. Any ideas on how to get this to work the way I want?
