Help Disable capacitive buttons?

I've been trying to disable the capacitive back button on my DoCoMo SG3.
tried adding a # before the line that says "key 158 back" in the Generic.kl file but no dice. it wouldn't allow me to save the file with change.

anyone had luck doing this?
