Help Disable "Google Tap to Speak" function

I have a LG ZTE and frequently use FB messenger. Today (for a reason I know not), everytime I open a chat with one of my FB and touch the area to begin typing, Google's "Tap To Speak" immediately comes up and will not allow me to close it. . How can I just disable this option on my phone. . I seriously NEVER use it anyway. . But I would like the voice calls you can make thru FB messenger to still be available. . Is that possible? Seriously, any input would be great bc I've been messing around with almost any settings I can think of to resolve this. . . Driving me a tad bit psycho lol

Poke around in settings for language and input.
On 6.0.1 Nexus 6 I have

languages and input ./ current keyboard / choose keyboards / on-off toggle for google voice typing - "automatic" (try turning this off)

languages and input / google voice typing / lots of options

I have a ZTE Blade from TracFone. To get rid of that "Tap to Speak" feature, I went to reset and then to reset apps. I tapped that and the feature disappeared.
