Disable startup apps, nothing works

Ace Malik

I have tried several apps to disable startup apps, whenever i turn wifi on at home on my phone i get bamboozled with so many of those notifications

Opera browser says its 60% quicker, copilot gps says theres a sale on the full version etc;

How can i really stop those

You mean ads that appear when you launch the apps? (to me "startup apps" means "apps that run when you start the phone). Are these things popping up when you get a connection, or just when you launch the corresponding app (Opera or Copilot in the examples you have given)? If the latter then it's within the app, and your only option is to find a setting (if any) in that app. If you are getting pop-ups without opening a particular app your problem is that you've installed some adware: it's one of the apps you've installed that's causing these, and you need to identify which one and remove it. If you get this just when you open a browser then check the browser's settings (to block pop-ups) and clear it's cache (in case there's an ad script in there).

The best ad-blockers require root, but there are some that don't. Those you can find in the Play Store will only block ads in browsers from what I've seen, but there are things outside the Play Store (DNS66 from the F-Droid store, or an Adguard variant you get direct from them) which will block ads more widely (using a VPN to filter them out). Not as effective as the versions that need root, but might help.

No its just the notification bar that shows on the screen, the same area where it shows that you missed call or have a voicemail

I have a Blu model phone so those cant be rooted, i am not using the apps when they start activating and showing those notifications its just as soon as i turn on wifi or data

Assuming you're using Android 6.x or later. Have a look in settings and app management, and you should be able to disable notifications from the offending apps., like there's absolutely no need for something like Opera(browser) to be showing notifications like that.

I did notice Ace mentioned it happens when he hooks to the WiFi.... just wondering but my tablet only does that when I hook to the WiFi as well and it's because it is set to only download updates,etc when I am on WiFi vs network so it tends to do a lot of that crap when I am home. It seems like the stuff he is being bombarded with is part of the "updates" some of his apps have, no? For instance, I have a solitaire game that only shows me ads when I play it at home when it connects to the WiFi. My thought would be to use those notifications to make notes on which ones need to be eliminated or at least disable automatic updates?
