Help DISABLING STOCK DIALER ON SAMSUNG GALAXY S7 - HELP!

Hi -
new to Samsung, I discovered that (Unlike my trusty old HTC one mini 2) the car mode was missing. So I installed a new one – HTC’s one to be precise. (I am also using Nova Prime).

I then had the problem that in car mode (landscape) the S7 dialer comes up in portrait, with no way to change it. So I installed Rocketdialer, which can rotate, and selected it as my ‘Default dialer’.

This was fine, and I got the rocket dialler into the HTC drive mode app. But when I press the dialer to send a call, what should pop up but SAMSUNG’S BLOOMING SToCK DIALER. ! It wont go away.!

So I downloaded package disabler – selected the android.com contacts (which I’m led to believe is the S7 Dialer) and disabled it.

But when I use rocket dialer, hit call, the S7 Stock dialer still pops up?! In portrait!

seems this phone is very tricky and not userfriendly :(
Please help!

Thanks

You can't because the installed one can't replace it. Downloadable dialer apps just replace the front end of the phone app. It doesn't really replace it underneath. And your car mode app doesn't have one built in that can replace it.

The S7 actually has an available car mode that can handle the dialer in landscape format. However it's not preinstalled. You can download it from the Galaxy Store. Just search for Car Mode (for Galaxy).

Here's a screenshot of what the dialer looks like using the Samsung Car Mode. I personally don't use it though, and prefer using AutoMate from the Play Store. That one also does dialing in landscape mode.

That looks good - I did look for this on Play and can't find it anywhere.? What is it called exactly? It doesn't come up...
It's not on the Play Store. On your phone there should be another app called 'Galaxy App Store' and search there for Car Mode (for Galaxy). Should be there. That's where I got it.

The one I get from the Play Store is called AutoMate. However I think that one is optimized for portrait use as well. I use my phone in portrait mode in the car since that's how my holder is setup.
