Discuss screen protectors and cases.

Tempered glass seems to be the trend nowadays. A flawless screen can help preserving your phone's resale value.

It's alittle expensive but I use the bodyguardz glass screen protector on my V20.. It's worth it in my opinion.. I've also used it on my Nexus 6 and 6s plus as well.. Twice the screen was cracked from dropping phones(my Nexus and iPhone) and the screen was flawless as everything absorbed in the screen cover.. I was impressed and stuck with bodyguardz. You can get them thru Amazon(it's alittle pricey but for what your paying for the phone it's a small thing). I got mine from a AT&T and received the discount as I have a discount thru my job. Expect to pay from $29.99-$35.00 for it. I know everybody can't afford that right off but it's better than paying the $110 or whatever the deductible is to replace a broken screen and wait to get a new phone.

I'm still looking for a good screen protector for this phone- due to the whole bottom edge thing. but if I get one it will probably be another tempered glass one.

case - I have the same ringke case and the only real issue I had was the headphone hole not being big enough for the cans I have at work. However if I was to use and stick with the B&O ones - then it's not an issue. However high quality cans tend to have thicker barrels due to thicker wire. I also had this issue with another case for my note 3. Not uncommon.

I'm really hoping to find a waterproof case in the near future. Anyone seen one? Only ones I can find a little waterproof bags.

Never seen a proper waterproof case for smartphone. The available items are usually ugly and bulky. Maybe buying a waterproof phone is the best solution.

Lifeproof likely wont make a case for the V20. I came from a water proof/resistant s7 to the V20. I just leave my phone in the house or my work van if i think it could get wet.

How did the bodygaurdz go on the screen? Easily? Does it stay stuck down? I cant find a screen protector that almost every review doesn't say it won't stay stuck down or doesn't cover the whole screen. Give us a review?

On my v20 the screen protector covers everything except the extreme edges ..the case I use secures the edges and it's fine ..it actually enhances the view of the screen as well and no interference with tapping the phone screen etc. The only thing I don't like is that the cover isn't top to bottom..it just covers the amount of screen that lights up..the installation is very easy with a steady hand and a definite dust free environment ..wipe it with a lint free cloth first . No spray or anything is needed . It could be better but I have dropped previous phones and the screen protector absorbed the brunt and cracked but not my actual screen. I'm sold on Bodyguardz in that respect ..the cover hasn't failed me yet . I used the same Bodyguardz cover on my Nexus 6 , iPhone 6s plus and have dropped both on asphalt and concrete. My screens where perfectly fine..the cases I had on did the rest to protect .

Sorry for the lack of a better pic but notice it doesn't go top to bottom.. just where the screen is usable..and it doesn't cover the front camera or wraps around it ..as I said before it has not failed me in the past ..so I stick with using ..I think Bodyguardz found out it's loose from their own testing and just went this far because if you go end to end it won't securely fit the edges..so they went this route..it's secure where it covers . Hope this helps .

Looks great i'd rather it not cover the edges rather then peel up and collect dirt, same with the bottom. Dust free is always tough to do.

I wonder why they don't cover the camera - I've seen 3 or 4 that are that way. due to the autofocus bit?

shame they don't make one for the back side too - that'd be nice.

I don't think that's a good idea, phone camera is tiny, covering it with a plastic case would alter the quality of the photos.

what about covering it with tempered glass? I mean I get the idea and I'm sure it might degrade it some.

but it'd be nice to have the option - specifically if I was about to do something I know was harsher on the mobile.

I love the smoke UAG with a glass screen protector. As a Sprint salesman, I have installed many glass protectors. I have this installation down pat. Not hard.

months later I have to say the Ringke case is holding up far better than I thought it would. again only issue I had was the headphone port hole wasn't big enough for the barrel of one of the sets of cans I like to use. With the B&O ear buds it was plenty big enough.

Just got the LG V20. Bought a skin wrap from Slickwraps (50% off sale is almost over) and an Ultimate Tempered Glass Impact-Resistant Protective Screen Protector from Accessory Geeks (also may still be having a 50% off sale). Both had been recommended in this YouTube video with tips and tricks. The video is long but covers quite a bit about the phone.

I bought a $10 Ringke case. I like it. It's still slim enough with giving just enough grip. Effective and cheap. I'm going to skip a screen protector for the first time this round. I think the technology with cell phone glass resists enough abuse to forgo one. Resale, meh. My G3 is mint, case and all and I'd be lucky to get $40 from it looking on ebay.. Not a deciding factor for me.

Just got my case today.

I have a Poetic Revolution case for my V20. It has a plastic screen protector like the Otterbox but is not as bulky as one. It also has dust covers for the USB and headphone jack. Price was right too, Less that $12 on Ebay with free shipping from the California Bay Area.
