Display has green line down screen.

I went to check my phone this morning and what do I see is a green line down the right side of my phone. I just got it on black Friday. I went to the Verizon store and Brook who helped me made sure I was taken care of. After about 30 minutes she came back and told me that they going to consider this DOA and gave me a brand new phone.

I was kind of surprised. I was already anticipating having to argue with them on why I shouldn't get a refurbished phone because my phone was only a week old. She told me that this was the second one they had come back for the same thing. Has anyone else run into this? My phone was only a week old.

It happened to me. Opened the box, charged to 100%, turned it on, inside 30 seconds a vertical line about half an inch in from the left. It got worse and worse.

Two hours on the phone to Motorola and 8 departments. Finally got someone who would help. It was replaced with a new phone. The problem has not shown up on that one.

It is hard to believe that mine was ever even turned on before it was shipped to me.

Welcome to Android Forums.

I assumed that every Motorola phone was. This particular problem is absurd. The standing on my head to get it replaced was even more absurd.

Basic business ... how many times do you get to make a first impression?

Thanks Thom.

I can't say for certain if every Moto phone is powered on and the screen tested, maybe it is, but if it is it would likely be automated with an optical tester determining if the screen passed or failed.

In any event, it looks like this is one of those manufacturing defects that happens once in a while... and when they happen, I agree that only a well oiled support team can smooth things over with the customer. Maybe Moto needs to take a closer look at how they're handling these things.

It was new turf for them ... Droid Turbo 2 from Moto Maker ... it certainly seemed to me that the eight departments I talked to at Motorola were clueless on the subject and worse they did not know how to escalate to get it resolved.

What got almost immediate attention was posting the problem on the Motorola Owner's Forum.
