Distributed Audio Players on Android

Hi All,
i'm trying to assess viability of using android boxes as in-store music players for one of my clients. They have a catalogue of their own licensed music that they would like to push out to multiple retail stores with centralised control. Ideally something like a digital signage platform but geared towards audio playback.

Features required include -

- push music files to store players
- remote hardware control / scheduling on /off
- playlist management
- scheduled library sync / updates
- play count reporting

I've looked at a couple of the digital signage platforms which seem like the right architecture, but don't have good audio management & tend to be high cost per point per month.

Could anyone recommend a solution we could try? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

thanks,
Ben

sorry should clarify also that it needs to be a non-streaming solution, i.e. sending files to the device and scheduling local playback so if internet access drops out the music will keep playing : )
