Ditching Verizon for Nexus 4

I'm currently on unlimited data with my Thunderbolt. I REALLLLLLY want the new Nexus phone, and, obviously, it's not compatible with Verizon. I was thinking about test driving the Nexus on Straight Talk (AT&T coverage) for a month. I love Verizon, and they're the only carrier I've ever used, but not being able to buy these awesome new phones is killing me. Anybody else dropping Big Red for the Nexus 4?

There's always a lot of phone compatible with GSM networks, Verizon is very limited in comparison to AT&T or similar. I'm just debating on which I want to switch to now, being that Verizon's share everything is an absolute rip off if you only have a smartphone.

I mean i have heard rumors of them possibly releasing the Nexus 4 in a couple months to Verizon, but i really don't know, i mean it is kind of what happened with the GNex, but i really don't know if i can see it happening again.

I really like VZW, of course they have the most expensive plans, but hey when you're the best carrier you can charge more.

I would suggest, however, to try out AT&T for a month to see if it's worth it, why not!

I wouldn't give up Verizon service and unlimited 4G for mediocre AT&T 3G, no way. Nexus 4 isn't nearly a big enough step up from my GS3 to make that worth it!

Isn't the spectrum 2 just like the nexus 4 in many ways?

I've gone back and forth, would even save money on a *gasp* pre-paid tmob plan. Only problem with them or att, is the astronomical calls that are dropped on those networks.

Also anything on vzw will have to be approved by vzw (like updates to the phones)

Well, It's a HUGE jump from my Tbolt. I HAVE to get a new phone because my Tbolt might as well be a drink coaster. It random reboots 24/7, and I can't reboot into recovery because my volume rocker doesn't work, lol. That being said, I can't get a new phone without paying $500-$700 out-of-contract .

I can save $500 a year if I go to Straight talk, and I only have to pay $350 up front for a bad ass phone. That's where my mind is at right now.

It's based off of the LG Optimus G

I REFUSE to go back to ATT.

That being said, I'm perfectly willing to try the Nexus 4 prepaid on TMobile.

Yup, me too. I ditched ATT years ago and couldn't be happier.

Calling all my friends on ATT, they drop like 1/2 the time unless it's really late at night.

Yeah, that vzw lg phone is just like the latest, but it's not the same for updates, etc... but we already knew that.
