DLNA on my TV

Hey there,

Apologies for the noobish question, but we've recently got a new HD 3D TV which is wireless LAN ready and I was hoping to check out how my Desire S hooks up to it via DLNA. But I believe I need a wireless dongle connected to the USB port of my TV to do this. My question is, will any wireless dongle do? Or do I need something more specific?

I have a wireless LAN setup in my house with 2 PC's running off this, one via a wireless dongle, so I'm wondering if I just buy another one and put it in the TV's USB port, I can then setup the network on the TV to my LAN settings. Am I correct in thinking this? Or is there more to it?

Your TV has a wireless dongle with its accessories to purchase. I think, that would be better because of right drivers with the TV.
Ot the dongle would be WLAN to LAN.

But hasn't your TV a LAN input?
So you can testing DLNA. Connect your TV with a cable at your network.

This is really a question you should be asking a TV forum, as this really has nothing to do with android phones.

But, without knowing the details of your tv, I'm almost positive you would have to use one that is recommended by your manufacturer, which can obviously be found in the owner's manual. However, you say you already have a usb dongle with one of your computers. Nothing is stopping you from trying that one, it would only take a few minutes.

I've got a Samsung TV and the wireless connection goes only with the dongle that is made by Samsung.
As mentioned, LAN wired connectivity can also be an option.

Once you get the TV connected to your network, streaming media is piece of cake.
