Help Do all nexus 10's have rebooting problems?

ljames94

Lurker
I'm wondering because there are large reports of Chrome crashes, sleep of death, and other rebooting problems. Does a nexus 10 without rebooting issues exist? Mine has had problems since I got it. It randomly crashes and reboots when the screen is off and it's not in use.

Mine hasn't done it since updating to 4.3 luckily. If you've updated to 4.3 and still experiencing issues a factory reset might fix that. Hopefully someone with a more ideal fix can help though first.

Same here - used to hang or reboot often (especially using Chrome) but not done it since the 4.3 update and that was a couple of weeks ago now

I have a strange rebooting issue. I just upgraded my paranoid android with an android 4.3 upgrade, and now it freezes on the 'Google' screen on reboot. The only way to get it going again is to wipe the whole thing and reflash, then the same thing. I hope some one can help me with this before I freak.

This is the 2nd time i've seen you post about this. It sounds like you've got a specific problem with paranoid android, so you'd be better creating a thread in the root section specific to your problem

Mine has never random booted but I do have Chrome memory leaks resulting in launcher redraws if I back out of Chrome since 4.3

Android has failed to distinguish the launcher from an app since Eclair. Most launchers are set to level six priority, meaning they're the first thing Android kills in a low memory situation. Chrome has this leak in 4.3 (didn't happen in 4.2.2) that causes Nova to redraw every time I back out of it.

Yeah, before 4.3 chrome has a memory leak that caused crashes now it seems 4.3 has cured the crash issue by introducing redraw issues..................

If I go to the task list from the home page and close out all tasks it just pops up the home page and widgets as were loaded. Backing out of almost any app using the home page shortcut causes the home page to reload and draw the icons and widgets.

Chrome is the only one doing it to me. Other web browsers work fine, Facebook works fine, play store and play music fine. The common denominator is Chrome. Ticking keep in memory in Nova Settings-->aggressive desktop fixes the redraw but introduces a new bug that makes Chrome lag and displays a warning band up top saying something about low memory. The Nexus 10 has 2gb of RAM it should never run low with just the browser open
