Help do i have to optimize new battery or is it not what it says?

hels

Hi all

I bought a new so called higher capacity battery for my phone but when i put battery in phone it was still as bad as original one. I downloaded an app that shows the battery details and it says it is the same size as my original battery. So i contacted the company and they sent me another battery but that says the same also.

The normal battery is a 1500mAh and the new ones says it should be a 2500mAh but it is coming up as a 1500mAh and i must admit it hasnt given me any more battery life.

What i have now been wondering is do i need to do something on my phone to calibrate or optimize or something? Or have i just been told wrong?

Any advice would be realy useful before i contact the company again
Thanks hels x

How much did you pay for the battery? If it's was only cheap from ebay or amazon marketplace then I would suspect that it's a knock off that will not be anywhere near the 2500 rating that they advertise.

I bought a extended capacity battery from eBay to replace my 1500mah battery. I can assure you that it is just false advertising and unless the battery is physically bigger, then it can't cram in more chemicals to boost the capacity.

Unless someone designs a larger extended capacity battery for the SE with a new back case, as available for the Samsung Galaxy. This is the only way to extend battery life, other than tweaking Android to prolong battery life.

Agree with you dude -

There are no special steps or optimization procedures etc that need to be taken care of when replacing a battery etc - so yea if the battery is showing a capacity of 1500 in apps etc and the cover for it says 2500, then the people who sold you the battery lied - thats what it seems like -
