Do Sprint's current unlimited data plans still have throttling?

Do Sprint's current unlimited data plans still have throttling after a high data usage threshold is reached?
A few years back they started offering "unlimited" plans again, but with a huge clause in the fine print.

I have a really old plan, that I believe is unlimited unlimited, with I believe, no throttling if you are a "power user". I have been extremely careful to hold onto this plan and not update it or sign a new contract.
Lately, I have been pressured to update this contract and save big money on my bill. However, I do not want to put myself into a plan/device lease that has fine print which allows throttling.

Is anyone current on this issue?

The new Sprint plans will throttle video to 480p unless you pay more, and will also deprioritize you (slow your data) if the tower is busy.

Mobile optimized: video streams at up to 480p+ resolution, music at up to 500kbps, streaming cloud gaming at up to 2mbps.
Premium resolution: video streams at up to 1080p+, music at up to 1.5mbps, gaming streams at up to 8mbps.
Data deprioritization applies during times of congestion. All while on the Sprint Network. Reqs. eBill. Prices shown are with AutoPay. Other monthly charges apply.

Thank you for the great and detailed response!

So in my legacy plan, am I immune from the forced slowed streams?

Am I immune from Deprioritization or was that a network wide change. I'm not sure how they could exclude people from it...

I'm not sure how they treat the older plans, but my guess is that everyone can be slowed by deprioritization (unless your original contract says you can't).

For video streaming - forced 480p should not affect your legacy plan since it's a feature of the new unlimited plan.

Ok so .... I am on the new sprint unlimited freedom plan ... when I use Netflix or amazon video the quality DEFINITELY looks at least 720p ... I don't Understand how Sprint is throttling only down to 480 ...any thoughts ?

on the new unlimited, it only slows down after 22gigs have been used. this applies to each phone. so if your dad used 24gigs, and you have only used 4gigs, you will not be slowed down until YOU reach 22gigs
