Do we have to have VZ-Navigation with the Premium plan to use Google maps & turn-by?

With my LG-Voyager phone, I have the Premium plan with Verizon's Navigator software, and paying for the Premium package to have the navigation piece.

Will I continue to need the Premium package to use Google maps and turn-by-turn??

Or, can I drop back to the "connect" package and still have Google Maps and turn-by-turn, using the unlimited data part of the "connect" plan??

As discussed on many other threads (particularly http://androidforums.com/motorola-droid/10440-what-plan-will-require-verizon.html ) Verizon smartphones must be on a Basic or Select plan with the $29.99 smartphone addition.
As for VZ Navigator, the supposition is that the phone will be truly open so you will not need to purchase VZ Navigator, which is a piece of software, not the GPS.
