Help Do you face this problem on your S3?

I changed from a Note to the S3, and I am a little perplexed at some differences I found, so I was wondering if they ARE differences, or there's a problem.

1. The Samsung Keyboard doesn't "Backspace when typing "?" or "!" etc".

Let me explain. Let's say I want to type the sentence: "Are we going to have dinner?"

Previously, in my Note, I would type a space after "dinner", and a line at the predictive text are would show: @ | ' | ! | ? | ,

I would click on the "?", and it would automatically backspace to immediately after the "dinner" to insert the question mark, and I would get "dinner?"

But with the S3, it doesn't backspace, and I get: "dinner ?"

Notice the space? Does anyone face the same issue, or have I done something with the predictive text settings?

2. Why can't I set up my Profile?

Under the Contacts, the first "contact" is "ME", and below that, "Set up my Profile".

But after I set it up, say John Smith blah blah, it saves the contact under "J", and not "ME"!

Anyone has any clue what's happening?

By the way, I am using SmoothSync for Contacts, so everytime I want to add a new contact, I get to choose: Phone (un-synced), SmoothSync, or Google.

Any help would be appreciated!

yeah, noticed the punctuation thing too (also came from a Note). I'm still having too much trouble tapping exactly where I intend to on this screen

Did you find a solution to this? I have Galacy S4 and also use smoothSync and have the same problem. Have searched for solutions left right and centre but nothing.

I can see in settings -- info about the phone -- status ... that the number saved as my number is not actually my number (never was). Not sure if this is anything to do with it. in any case it is grayed out and I can't change it.

if anyone does have a way of resolving this I would love to know. Thanks in advance.

Sorry about the issue you are having with your device.
Now, while it may be related, this is the S3 forums and perhaps you may not have realized it, but the thread is quite old and the member may not be back, but no worries...

May I suggest starting a thread in the S4 forums here:
Samsung Galaxy S4 - Android Forums

And just state what the issue is and the good folks there can help out
