Are you sure it's a vapor lock condition? I'd offer some solutions, but you need to give more info. Model year and if it's fuel injected or carbureted would be a good start
EDIT: Ok nevermind, you said it's a 2000, which should be fuel injected. Vapor lock is unlikely unless you changed it to a carburetor.
Now it's a matter of whether you're not getting enough fuel to the engine or getting too much. Holding the gas pedal to the floor while starting it should force the ECU to cut the fuel flow back a bit. If it starts, you may have bad injector(s).
I remember this problem when I'm helping a buddy install the new side steps, forged wheels and new 1-pc hard tonneau on his truck. His father's ramcharge having what they call vapor lock and was eliminated after installing a new electric fuel pump.
