does anybody know if google drive keeps deleted text messages?

i was clearing up space on my phone about a month ago and just noticed today i deleted a whole conversation between my best friend and i which has a lot of photos/videos of us!

does google drive keep deleted data like this or is it gone?
 
Google One also backups calls, texts, MMS, pictures and data. Well worth the 200GB that I pay for every year. I still use SMS Backup and Restore, though, just in case.

thanks friend i should look into that! however i have google drive and the guy above said that it doesn’t keep deleted messages... do you know anything about that?
 
SMS Backup and restore will keep all of your text conversations as long as it's backed up to the cloud. Even if you delete them off your phone.
So as long as the backup has them, you can restore them.

yeah that does make sense but i accidentally backed up my phone after deleting in attempts to clear up some space so i don’t know if they still exist since there was a backup after deletion on top of the fact that my phone has backed up multiple times this past month... so i don’t know what else to do
