Does anyone else here WRITE?

If so, what are your views on Createspace? Basically, it's Amazon (both digital and print on demand). The model seems solid enough, but I'm getting two children's books ready to go out and wanted more viewpoints. It's just not viable for me to hire a literary agent to shop the big publishing houses.

I am a writer who doesn't write... I know there are a bunch of folks who actually publish (and people who format books for a living) over at MobileRead forums who might have opinions and tips for you.

NaNoWriMo is about to begin. I am considering making a go of it this year.
me too!
Do you have any kind of plan, or are you going to be 'pantsing' it?

I attempted NaNoWriMo two years ago without a plan, making it up as I went along. I came up with some good imagery and scenes, but ultimately I didn't know where the story was going and it kind of faltered as the possibilities expanded endlessly before me.

Yeah, just winging it... I don't really expect to have a sellable novel out of it; not in the short-term, but I do need to get writing again, if only to get back into the groove on a decade-long project that stalled.,

I decided to publish with Draft2Digital for wide distribution; and KDP strictly for Amazon sales. I have four books on the market: two kids' books, a book for expectant fathers, and a book about the importance of romance and chivalry.

That's amazing! You should share links!

I have started up two more books inside my giant but slimmed down books, they are up on my tumblr, up on my instantgram..
A few are tossed on here too.
Massively slimmed down, also started up a web site for my girlfriend too.

Not someday. Someday will NEVER happen. Schedule it. Put time on your calendar, at least a few hours each week, to create an outline and start filling it in. Then edit it for flow and have someone proofread it for you. Someone who doesn't really like you and will point out every single flaw!

I've learned to very carefully consider my work before publishing. I thought my title was good and the content was great: no matter the content, however, it serves no purpose if no one reads it because they don't like the title! So I have to unpublish the book; revise and retitle it (new copyright and new ISBN); revise some of the content to better match the new title; and then publish the "new" book. Not fun.
