Does anyone here use pingchat?

Checking the market now!!

However... isn't Gtalk the google alternative to BBM? It's only available to Android phones for use on-the-go, and it's available through Gmail if you're on the computer, exactly like BBM.... still gonna look though.

It's supposedly more like bbm than gtalk. Although I haven't used bbm so don't quote me on that.

Plus you can get it for android, blackberry and the iphone, so it doesn't matter what phones your friends have.

It's ok, but it's a bit basic (at the moment anyway).

Back in my Blackberry days I despised BBM cause it shows when a message has been delivered/read. My girlfriend at the time would IM me constantly and there was always this pressure to respond right away.

Solution: no more girlfriend/blackberry. :D

Yeah that's probably the main advantage (or disadvantage :p) to pingchat. I prefer just being able to see if people are online with gtalk.

I use it.
Currently working away from home. Where I am staying the mobile signal is awful but I do have WiFi
My girlfriend has an iPhone 4 so we were looking for something that runs on both.

It works fine and does not seem to affect battery much.
Anything else you want to know?

I'm like a lot of others. I installed it, toyed around with it with a couple friends, then junked it.

It works just well, does what is advertised... But to be honest, with gTalk, Yahoo Messenger, WLM, AIM, Jabber etc... does there REALLY need to be yet another chat medium? Especially since there are plenty of All-in-one chat apps like Trillian, BeeJive, etc.. anybody I meet will be using at least one of the big three (gtalk, aim, yahoo).

Lately the trend seems to be all this hype for chat apps advertising cross-smartphone/platform chat, like it's never been done before, when in all truth, it's been around for longer than smartphones.
