Does anyone really know about "fast charging?"

I see so many ads, on sites, and amazon saying their charger is "fast charging", and recently in my case, I ordered two Anker 10W, Qi compatible charging pads hoping for some fast charging pad action.
Simple, right?
No so fast.
Even though my phone is compatible, (An LG V30, Qi-compatible fast-charging phone according to it's pecs)
and the chargers are compatible, (Anker's Qi-certified fast-charging pad) they do NOT work together.
Now I am told that I have to get the Anker 15W model instead.

Has anyone else encountered this disparity or one like it?

My phone for an odd reason, out of Verizon, they would not show me how to charge it via charging pad too. It is a strange device, gave it to my mother about it. She likes it though. I am happy now with my droid it is fast charging.
