Does anyone remember this hilarious April Fools, sports-related joke?

Honestly, I hadn't thought about this in years, but it's all come back to me now.

The April 1st, 1985 edition of Sports Illustrated contained a George Plimpton article, The Curious Case of Sidd Finch, about an unknown baseball prospect whose fast ball was clocked at an impressive 168MPH.

The article had photos of Finch, and lots of interesting info about him.

I'd never heard this story before (haven't subscribed to SI for a very long time and '85-'88 are a blur for me because I was in law school) and it's definitely a good prank, well played...however, whenever I think of George Plimpton I can't help but think of this:
