Help Does anyone use the word "scree"?

UncleMike

In the course of writing invoices and/or work descriptions, I frequently have to use the word "screw", but every time I swipe the word "screw" using Google Keyboard it insists on thinking I meant something else, most often "scree". I have never gotten it to think I've swiped "screw". To make matters worse, "screw" isn't even in the list of 18 alternative suggestions for what I've swiped. I've even entered the word "screw" in my personal dictionary, but that didn't help either.

As I was typing this I realized how to fix the problem: I edited my personal dictionary and added "scree" as a shortcut for "screw"!

My problem appears to be solved now, but it's been so frustrating that I wanted to go ahead and post anyway.

I've climbed a few scree slopes in my time, but I would have thought that screw was used more commonly. Sounds like it doesn't register that your swipe was supposed to cover both "e" and "w". But I dislike swipe keyboards anyway so can't say whether there's another which does it better.

Not sure I've used the word scree since geography lessons in school, and the associated field trips....
