Help Does Apple have a new desktop?

Dell just came out with a similar aio (all-in-one) 27' 4k display ... no pricing yet, but I'll bet it's close to the iMac. I'm not a big fan, but they do have their place.

It's the Mac Pro(the one that looks like a rubbish bin) that's not seen any update love for 5 years now.

All other Apple products are updated every year or so AFAIK.

All the creative professionals I know who are imprisoned married to Apple use iMacs. Haven't seen a Mac Pro in ages.

Digital Security professionals also use Apple devices (Macbook Pro/iMac) as they can run MacOS, Linux(Kali most likely) and Windows all on the one device.

Lol, I can't understand how that design got approval from Mr Jobs.

All the physicists I know who use Macs (quite a lot) use Macbooks. Few bother with a desktop at all, though all the serious computing is done on Linux farms. The Mac Pro would be irrelevant, as it's not cost-effective for either personal desktop computing or more serious applications, though we've used iMacs (running Linux) in the control room (they were good for driving multiple monitors).

Windows users are unusual in my game - most of the "Windows" laptops you see are running Linux of some sort.

You know, my brother is a world class physicist and VP of a major tech company and when we get together we talk about our kids, our health (or lack thereof), vacation spots and which desert he's recently hiked, but we never talk tech. I have no idea what platform or machine he uses at work or home.

Knowing my brother, though, it's completely irrelevant. He's platform neutral as long as it gets the job done. Pragmatic genius. ;)
